James Pryke - Editor of The Secret Butterfly Trail
James Pryke was born in 1946 in the suburbs of Paris, France. After crossing the Atlantic in a steamship with his mother, Helen, mom and son reunited with his father, Joseph, a recently discharged WWII vet, in Glendale in Scott Township, a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. where he was raised with his brother, Tom and sister, Patti.
His interest in language led him to study French and English at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, Mr. Pryke went immediately into teaching for 30 years until his retirement in 1999. At that time, Pryke, along with his wife, Sandra, moved to Sedona, AZ. One of their two children, Joy, lives nearby in Flagstaff with the grandchildren, Kelly and Jake. Pryke's son, Jonathan, lives across the country in North Carolina with his wife, Jennifer, and their three sons, Isaiah, Christopher and Colin. The Secret Butterfly Trail by Zushka Biros is the fourth book Mr. Pryke has edited, having collaborated previously with Charles Frank on his first book, Wings of Salvation and Charles Jaquin on his recently published book, S.A.I.N.T. Additionally, he just completed editing the Magical Starrlight Express by Adona Grace. Having come to editing at this later stage in life, Pryke brings a maturity and insight into his work which helps him to clarify the thoughts and direction of the authors with whom he is working. His experience with Frank, Jaquin and Zushka Biros combined with his love of language and words, has convinced this wordsmith that this is a passion and a challenge, despite its belated calling, he will be enjoying for a long time. |
